Do I Have to Reflash My Ecu Again if I Change Exhaust

Is an ECU flash necessary after exhaust upgrades?

I bought my 2014 speed triple with a SC Project slip-on already on information technology, and I want to put aftermarket headers on it (probably pointer brand). Practice I really need to accept the ecu changed because of this?

not a expert here only from all the reading i've done but a skid on no remapping needed / full exhaust yes you need to get it remapped with a power commander. This is merely from what i've read on other bikes I'1000 certain someone here will right me.

You're correct. If information technology'south only a slip-on y'all probably won't need to play with annihilation. If it's anything more than (mid pipe, headers or fifty-fifty a unlike air filter) you're gonna have to get power commander or other fuel injection system.

The answer is yep, you exercise demand to re-melody it.

The question I have though, is if you lot intendance enough about performance, and are cashed up enough for headers, why in the earth wouldnt you lot want to tune it, so yous can maximise the operation?!

level two

I'one thousand not crazy near performance, the speed triple is just a super heavy bike compared to other liter bikes so I'g looking to cutting some weight back. And I've looked into flashing triumphs and it's non as easy as Japanese bikes unfortunately

Get serious, headers and slipons are not really well-nigh operation.

Read here

TL;DR: Nothing has to exist inverse if you lot add together a skid on but irresolute the entire frazzle system requires you to rejet a carb or use a power commander on a fuel injected bike.

The shape of the Arrow Midpipe vs stock is going to push the SC Project out wide.

From what I've seen, anyhow.

The correct reply is "depends". A slip on is generally no, simply anything more is yes. The manufacturer should give a guide on what y'all need to do.

You tin get away with non doing an ECU flash, but trust me, y'all want to become a flash. The best upgrade of all to the overall ride quality, other than suspension, is a expert ECU wink and tune that really smooths out the throttle. Having a really smooth, predictable throttle just makes the bike so much easier to ride. Once you take ridden a cycle with a flawless throttle, whatsoever stock bike will feel jerky.

Yes. Exhaust is a big deal on a bike.

Commonly but not always. Check with the manufacturer of the exhaust. In some cases you lot can go away with it if yous leave the db killer.

Depends of the cat was removed or non.

It'south always a expert idea, only in general if the stock true cat is yet there, a slip on isn't irresolute much of anything simply the noise.

If the cat was as well removed (normally for a "full" exhaust) then definitely become the ECU tuned/flashed/accept the bike dyno'd.

I researched this to expiry a couple years dorsum. Just a slip on, no flashing/remapping required. If you practise a full exhaust...headers...muffler...cat removal, so a remap needs to happen. Well-nigh people use Power Commanders for that. I bought a Flashtune kit...didn't like the idea of a piggyback arrangement. Anyways...Leo Vince frazzle with a Graves ECU image...and the character of the bike (R6) inverse quite a scrap...she can move!

Just search reddit dude, someone already asked the question.

Practise you need a tune? No. Volition y'all get the most power/torque without one? No.

level 1

I've read that for slip on only; y'all don't need to dyno it, but u do if y'all modify anything besides that you should dyno information technology. I've likewise read if u take the baffle off your stock exhaust, you should dyno it. hopefully ecu and dyno are the same and that answers your question.

You might non HAVE to, just theres no point in spending the coin on a full system without tuning for it

Then the basic dominion of pollex is, you tin make ane change to the intake OR exhaust without irresolute it.

Adding the slip on was the one modify, adding headers would exist another, so yes, you would need to get a power commander and flash the ECU.
